I’m Yiorgos Molvalis, a director and editor based in Athens, Greece. I make films for brands and stories of my own, drawn to people, atmosphere and the small details that make an image feel alive.
My award-winning film A Different Nutcracker, completed while studying cinema, marked an early step in my filmmaking journey. Since then, I’ve worked across commercials, documentaries, television and short films, collaborating as a director and editor with clients including LG, WWF, UNICEF, CCC, Metaxa, Philip Morris and MAX STORES.
Having worked across different production roles, I enjoy both imagining a scene and figuring out how to make it happen. My editing background shapes how I direct: the rhythm of a performance, the duration of a look, the moment a cut makes sense.
Working with AI since 2023, I develop my own production workflows around photographic realism and carefully controlled continuity across characters, locations, clothing and props. My approach comes from filmmaking: defining the story, directing the image and refining the details until they belong together. AI gives me another way to tell a story, alongside the camera, the set and the edit.
I still love the controlled chaos of a shooting day, particularly when an unexpected moment makes the plan better. And, when the work is done, a good cocktail rarely hurts.
